Carl started skiing at a young age on the hard packed, icy groomers of Quebec. Once he tasted the deep powder and relaxed lifestyle of the Kootenays, there was no going back. He jumped on the volunteer patrol team of Red Mountain and worked towards becoming a ski guide. He certified as a CSGA2 guide and CAA Level 2. In the summers, he guides hiking tours around the Rockies, and spends any free time climbing rocks.
